Alf Duffield
Chairman | A Chartered Accountant and Director, Alf is Chairman of QAICL and handles the financial affairs of the company. As well as providing representation on behalf of QAICL on outside bodies, Alf is also responsible for the statutory reporting obligations of QAICL. Alf has a background as Past Chairman of Middlesbrough Football Club, Chairman of ITM and Director of Vickers Plc. |
Also a Director, Alan Carter is Chief Executive of QAICL and is responsible for overall business development and day to day management of UKAS Accreditation. As Scheme Manager he is also in charge of the Technical Systems of the company, Product Development and liaison between the assessment and certification processes of QAICL. Alan has previous appointments at Plc Board Level and Maintains charitable and honorary appointments. |

Michael Bearpark
Technical Manager | Michael is the Technical Manager of QAICL and has a broad remit of duties. This includes overall responsibility for Company operations across all departments. Michael monitors and maintains the operational standards of QAICL across its many varied processes, this includes the activities of QAICL's subsidiaries and licensees. Ensuring the Company maintains up to date accreditation across its diverse industry sector audits, Michael also deputises for the Scheme Manager. A Registered Engineer, Michael is also Vice Chairman of the IQA (North East) and is an IRCA Registered Lead Auditor for QMS, EMS and OHSAS. |
Simon is the QA Manager of QAICL with the broad responsibility for ensuring all of the interfaces within QAICL, operate correctly and in accordance with internal, national and international standards. As Head of ‘Risk Management’ and ‘Corporate Compliance’; Simon also has a direct reporting route to the Scheme Manager and to the Governing Board of QAICL, for fulfilment of the requirements of ISO17021 with respect to impartiality and independence. Simon is also the first point of call in matters concerning internal audit and quality assurance of QAICL overseas operations. |

David George
Certification Manager | With a background in a variety of Industry areas, David George brings an added value to the team. Managing the Certification processes of the company for all of it's registrations worldwide, David is also the key liaison for confirmation and validation of the many types of Certification issued by QAICL. |
David has a long and accomplished history of dealing with the Management of QMS and EMS operating systems in Industry. Overseeing the Scheme's Operations and Audit Reporting processes, Dave has the responsibility of ensuring timely processing of Assessment Reports to ensure smooth transition of companies to Registration. David comes from an Industrial background and is well versed in QMS and EMS system implementation and management, he is also an experienced ‘Supplier Assurance’ (Vendor) Assessor and qualified Systems Auditor. |

Steve Farnaby
Operations Engineer | Qualified in both Administration and I.T. systems, Steve has a responsibility for making the operating systems of QAICL 'Tick', working accross all departments of the company. Supporting the Operations Manager, Steve also has direct responsibility for processing of Surveillance reports. Steve has a background in the Management Systems implementation industry spanning more than 20 Years, has particular experience in Industrial Process Systems, broadcasting, web publishing and Audio Engineering and is also a qualified Systems Auditor. |
Paula is usually the first point of contact for people communicating with QAICL. As an Operations Engineer, Paula interfaces with all members of the Certification and Operations Staff in day to client processing and management of QAICL’s Auditor and Registration databases. Paula also has responsibilities which include the duties of PA to the Directors of QAICL. Paula is qualified through the Institute of Quality Assurance on QMS and is also qualified in Environmental Management. Paula’s background as a Quality Manager and QA Engineer is extensive and also includes knowledge in BRC Standards and Management Systems Auditing. |
