The Directors and Governing Board of QA International Certification Limited have considered the Company's position, as an International Product and Management Systems Certification provider, following the UK referendum on EU membership.
In line with its British Accreditation provider (UKAS), QAICL has concluded that there should be no change to required policies or practice as regards the outcome of the referendum (also known as BREXIT) as the standards to which QAICL offer registration are both customer and market led.
It is possible that cross border accreditations that relate directly to EU Regulations (such as those under ISO 13485 for Medical Devices), may require some adjustment to take account of any agreed arrangements following exit from the EU. However, any such adjustments necessary will be made by QAICL during audits, to take account of customer specified requirements and legislation, at point of origin and of use.
QAICL will continue to monitor the situation closely by working with both UKAS and its other accreditation providers and trade bodies and this statement will be updated accordingly.
The UKAS Policy on the referendum is available at UKAS Brexit Statement
